UEFA Euro 2024 Odds & Predictions Day 10: France and Germany Co-Favorites as England Slips
England entered Euro 2024 as the favorites to win their first-ever European Championship and opened with a victory, but France and Germany have passed them as co-favorites as we check out the Euro 2024 odds across our best soccer betting sites heading into Day 10.
England haven't won a major international tournament since their 1966 World Cup victory, despite coming oh-so-close to ending that streak at the 2020 Euros before falling 3-2 on spot kicks to Italy. There was a lot of hope it was finally coming home in 2024, but this start hasn't been convincing.
They opened the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Serbia on Sunday, although they perhaps weren't as dominant as many expected out of the gates. They drew 1-1 with Denmark in their second game, and perhaps they looked worse than in their opener. It's been a troubling start for the pre-tournament favorites, and while they haven't fallen far off the pace, they're no longer the favorites.
France have jumped England atop the oddsboard, despite also winning 1-0 in their opener - and on the strength of an own goal by Austria.
Host nation Germany grabbed a 5-1 victory over Scotland on Friday and confirmed a spot in the Round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Hungary. That start has been enough to propel them past England as well. They play Switzerland in Sunday's marquee match at 3 p.m. ET.

Euro 2024 betting favorites

As demonstrated in the World Cup, boasting the best player on the pitch is advantageous in tournaments of this nature. Thanks to Mbappe, France can confidently make that claim in every match.
France kicked off play with a bit of surprising result and a bit of bad news. France picked up all three points in a 1-0 victory over Austria, but the lone goal was an own goal, and Mbappe left with a suspected broken nose. He wasn't an option against the Netherlands on Friday, and France picked up a 0-0 draw. With a match against now-eliminated Poland awaiting them on Tuesday, they're almost surely set to advance through the Group Stage.

Germany's short odds are mostly coming due to playing at home. But Germany are starting to show some signs of life under coach Julian Nagelsmann after being bounced out of two successive World Cups in the group stage. They won only three of 11 matches in 2023, but the squad rebounded with impressive victories over France and Holland this past March.
The Germans are in a group with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland, which should provide a relatively straightforward path to the knockout phase.

England are in Group C with Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia, and they should have won the group relatively easily. A 1-0 win over Serbia got the action underway, but a 1-1 draw with Denmark in their second game puts a little more doubt on that than expected.
The Three Lions will need a better showing against Slovenia on Tuesday to inspire some more confidence for their long-term potential in this tournament.
