Looking for the perfect unique holiday gift for the NFL fan in your life?

eBay has you covered – but it could really cost you.

The world's most popular online auction site is positively brimming with NFL collectibles year-round, but sees particularly heavy interest in the weeks leading up to the holiday season. And while there's something for every fan type and in just about any price range, where eBay really sets itself apart is in the "truly rare memorabilia" department.

Here's a look at the list of the most expensive team-specific collectibles available on eBay (items available as of Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. ET):

We have no shortage of trends to focus on within this list:

  • If anyone doubted the growth of the high-end trading card industry, this list should obliterate those reservations. A whopping 17 items on the list are trading cards, including the top two (which come in at a combined $8.9 million).
  • The trend of quarterback collectibles running the show is equally as prominent. All but two of the items feature at least one QB, be they all-time greats like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, future Hall of Famers like Patrick Mahomes, or ... Desmond Ridder.
  • A dozen of the most expensive NFL eBay collectibles have been "graded" – a process which involves sending the item to a certified grading company which provides an overall condition score ranging from 10 (Gem Mint) down to 1 (Poor). Cards are graded based on four factors: sharpness of corners, condition of edges, condition of surface, and centering.
  • Half of the items on the list are labeled "1/1" or "One of One"; these cards are given a special designation as being the only one of their respective kind from a particular set, indicated with a foil embossing on the front or back of the card.

Most Expensive NFL eBay Collectibles by Team

2019 Panini Flawless Kyler Murray "100 Years" Rookie Patch Auto 1/1.

Arizona Cardinals

2019 Panini Flawless Kyler Murray "100 Years" Rookie Patch Auto 1/1

Cost: $100,000

Strictly from an aesthetic standpoint, it will be difficult to find a more stunning version of a Kyler Murray rookie card. The addition of the game-worn NFL anniversary patch is what really sets this card apart from the rest – and while Murray's signature could be better (there's some ink displacement in the "K"), this is still a true grail card for any Murray collector.

Atlanta Falcons

2019 Panini Illusions Desmond Ridder Trophy Collection Yellow Diamond 118/299

Cost: $1 million

It wouldn't surprise me to discover that this card has been listed for a while. Ridder became a gem in the collectible world not long after the Falcons made him the 74th pick in the 2022 NFL draft, but he never realized his potential in Atlanta and is now a clipboard-toting backup with the Las Vegas Raiders. This probably isn't a million dollar card.

Baltimore Ravens

2019 Panini Flawless Lamar Jackson Flawless Shield 1/1 (graded PSA 9)

Cost: $450,000

You can be sure the seller is hoping that Jackson comes through on his current +250 figure in our latest NFL MVP odds. As it stands, though, this card is probably already maxed out from a value perspective; the decision to grade a 1/1 is a hot-button issue in the collecting world, and "only" scoring a 9 certainly inhibits the top-end potential of the card.

Buffalo Bills

2019 Panini Select Josh Allen Black Prizm XRC 1/1 (graded PSA 10)

Cost: $280,000

This card, on the other hand, still has plenty of room to grow – and if Allen can lead the Bills to their elusive first Super Bowl, you can be sure that the seller of this treasure will adjust the price accordingly. The PSA 10 represents risk that was ultimately worth taking, and while this isn't a "true" Allen RC, the 1/1 designation from a popular set is very appealing.

Carolina Panthers

2017 Panini Origins Christian McCaffrey Origins Rookie White Box 1/1 Black/Yellow 2-Card RC Lot

Cost: $55,000

Panthers fans will no doubt look upon this two-card offering wistfully and remember the days when McCaffrey was slicing through opposing defenses in Carolina blue, black and silver. Regardless of whether you prefer your CMC with the Panthers or the 49ers, it's hard to deny that these matching autographed rookie cards look good.

Chicago Bears

1976 Topps Walter Payton RC (graded CSA 10)

Cost: $100,000

This old-school gem bucks the trend of predominantly modern football cards that dominate the top of this list. And what die-hard Bears fan wouldn't want to own a Gem Mint rookie card of one of the greatest running backs of all-time? What's intriguing about the CSA grading system is that it gave this card a 10 despite scoring 9s on both corners and surface.

Cincinnati Bengals

2020 Panini Contenders Joe Burrow Super Bowl Ticket Auto RC 1/1 (graded BGS 9.5 w/10 autograph)

Cost: $324,450

If this isn't a top-5 Burrow rookie card, it has to be close. The No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL draft signed his iconic "Joey B" to this crisp-looking card, which came out with 9.5 grades across all four major categories. The 10 grade on the autograph certainly helps the value of this card, which can be yours for just under the cost of this house in Burrow's hometown of Ames, Iowa.

Cleveland Browns

2021 Prizm Blockchain Baker Mayfield NFL Patch Star Auto 1/1 (graded PSA 10 w/10 autograph)

Cost: $85,500

I'm surprised this card has remained at the same price point throughout the 2024 NFL season, even as Mayfield continues to put up numbers that measure favorably against the best passers in the game. Mayfield moved into the No. 1 spot after a signed ticket from Hall of Famer Jim Brown's 1957 NFL debut (priced at $227,000) was taken down from eBay in late October.

1992 Pro Set Crazy Ray Jones / Chief Zee Dual In-Person Auto (graded PSA/DNA authentic)

Dallas Cowboys

1992 Pro Set Crazy Ray Jones / Chief Zee Dual In-Person Auto (graded PSA/DNA authentic)

Cost: $759,000

Dallas and Washington have a bitter decades-old rivalry – which is likely the impetus behind this Missouri-based seller putting such a massive price tag on a unique card signed by symbolic representatives from both teams. Both autographs have been authenticated, and the seller says it's the only card of its kind out there. Still, three-quarters of a million is a lot.

Denver Broncos

1984 Topps John Elway RC (graded PSA 10)

Cost: $85,000

Sometimes, it's just this simple: Take an old rookie card of an all-time great quarterback, secure the best possible grade with the top authenticator, then sit back and enjoy the ride. That said, the seller might be a bit ambitious with the asking price, with 191 PSA 10 Elway rookie cards in existence and sales generally in the mid-four figures.

Detroit Lions

2009 Topps Unique Matthew Stafford Crest Relics Auto 1/1 (graded BGS 9)

Cost: $1 million

You could probably buy most of those graded 10 Elways for the amount this buyer wants for what might be Stafford's biggest rookie card. It's a stunning collectible – the NFL crest patch in the middle is gorgeous, and Stafford's auto is crisp and clean – but probably shouldn't be this pricey when compared to bigger hobby attractions like Allen or Patrick Mahomes.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers Bart Starr Super Bowl II Ring

Cost: $125,000

I chose the Starr ring over the Rodgers RC in order to break up the sports card monopoly – and there's an interesting story attached. From the seller: "A major auction company did an extensive research on this including conversations with the manufacturer and believe this ring was kept by the CEO of Josten." An interesting bauble, but probably not worth $125k.

Houston Texans

2007 National Treasures Jacoby Jones Auto RC /299

Cost: $500,000

Sadly, not all sellers' intentions are honorable – and this feels like a blatant attempt to take advantage of a player making headlines for tragic reasons. Jones passed away in July at the age of 40 due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease – and while he had a solid NFL career, the price tag on this rookie card is frankly insulting.

1998 Flair Showcase Peyton Manning Row 0 Legacy Masterpiece RC 1/1 (graded PSA 9).

Indianapolis Colts

1998 Flair Showcase Peyton Manning Row 0 Legacy Masterpiece RC 1/1 (graded PSA 9)

Cost: $500,000

If you're going to pony up a half-million dollars for a single football card, having this guy's picture on the front is a compelling reason to do so. Manning's rookie card is a grail item even if you're not a die-hard fan of the Colts and Broncos legend – and the fact that this one is a 1/1 makes it even more sought after. The PSA 9 grade hurts a bit, but this is still a monster.

Jacksonville Jaguars

2021 Panini Flawless Trevor Lawrence Red White & Blue Rookie Patch Auto w/Shield 1/1

Cost: $250,000

Lawrence has lost plenty of hobby luster over the past year and a half, but this might be the nicest-looking card on this list. Featuring both the NFL shield and Nike Swoosh, along with a super-clean Lawrence auto, this will serve nicely as the centerpiece of a Lawrence or Jaguars fan's collection – provided the seller is willing to budge on this steep price.

Kansas City Chiefs

2017 Panini Spectra Patrick Mahomes II Rookie Patch Auto Gold Laundry Tag NFL Shield 1/1 (graded BGS 9.5)

Cost: $4.5 million

Holding down top spot on the list is this absolute beauty of a rookie card featuring the No. 1 player in the hobby. Two notable flaws prevent this card from being a sure-fire million-dollar sale: The shield logo could be centered better in the memorabilia window, and the sticker auto (rather than the largely preferable on-card version) is a major detractor.

Las Vegas Raiders

2014 Panini Contenders Derek Carr Rookie Premieres Rookie Ink Gold Holofoil Auto 1/1

Cost: $65,000

I can't imagine it will be easy for this seller to find someone willing to not only spend a solid five figures on a piece of Carr memorabilia, but to invest that money in a major card from his time with the Raiders. That union ended horribly, and it's quite likely that Raiders fans would just rather forget it ever happened (though the card itself looks cool).

2020 Panini Contenders Justin Herbert Super Bowl Ticket RC 1/1.
2020 Panini Contenders Justin Herbert Super Bowl Ticket RC 1/1. Photo By: ALTxyz Official Cards / eBay.

Los Angeles Chargers

2020 Panini Contenders Justin Herbert Super Bowl Ticket RC 1/1 (graded PSA 8.5 w/10 Autograph)

Cost: $206,000

Herbert was a bona fide sensation during his rookie season, throwing for more than 4,300 yards en route to becoming one of the hottest tickets in the sports card industry. His star has fallen somewhat over the past few years, making the price of this grail rookie card a little steep for even the most ardent Herbert collector, but this is still a top-tier collectible.

Los Angeles Rams

1948 Los Angeles Rams Leather Football Helmet

Cost: $70,000

This is certainly one of the more unique items you'll see on this list. Not only does it harken back to the days when pro football players had only a thin leather hat to protect their heads, but it also contains a whopping nine signatures of former Rams greats, including Merlin Olsen, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson and Kurt Warner. A true piece of Rams history.

Miami Dolphins

2020 National Treasures Tua Tagovailoa Rookie Treasures NFL Shield Auto RC 1/1 (graded BGS 9)

Cost: $103,000

Ever wonder why high-end 2020 NFL football card product is so expensive these days? Check out the number of cards on this list from that season alone. Tagovailoa is another Class of 2020 QB who has seen his hobby profile take a hit of late, but he and the Dolphins' high-powered offense are trending more positively in 2024.

Minnesota Vikings

2007 National Treasures Adrian Peterson Jumbo Materials Prime Auto RC 1/1 (graded PSA 8)

Cost: $99,999

This has everything you want in a high-end rookie card. Peterson is a sure-fire Hall of Famer the moment he's eligible, and this rookie card features a stunning three-color game-worn patch and a sleek black autograph. It's also a 1/1, which makes it incredibly sought-after. The only hiccup: That PSA 8 grade, which is sure to deter some buyers.

2003 Leaf Tom Brady Limited Threads Game Worn Jersey Auto 08/12.

New England Patriots

2003 Leaf Limited Tom Brady Limited Threads Game Worn Jersey Auto 08/12 (graded PSA 10)

Cost: $4.4 million

While there was absolutely no doubt which player would be featured on the most expensive Patriots collectible, the actual card itself might seem like a bit of a surprise. This isn't a Brady rookie card, nor is it from one of the industry's higher-end sets. It is, however, a game-worn jersey/auto combo in a PSA 10, which is about as rare as it gets in the Brady universe.

New Orleans Saints

2012 Topps Five Star Russell Wilson / Nick Toon Dual Shield Auto RC 1/1

Cost: $250,000

Some younger collectors might not know this, but Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan actually shares a rookie card with then-Mets teammate Jerry Koosman. It's rare to see these days, but it makes for some interesting valuations for players who wouldn't otherwise have much hobby clout. (I'm looking in your general direction, Nick Toon.)

New York Giants

1956 Charlie Conerly New York Giants World Championship Ring (w/certificate of authenticity)

Cost: $150,000

The opportunity to own a symbol of a team's ultimate success doesn't come along often – and it's even rarer for that opportunity to come via eBay. But any Giants fan with a little extra cash kicking around could take ownership of the authentic world championship ring that was given to Conerly, the QB for the Giants' 47-7 world title win over the Bears in 1956.

2022 Panini Instant Garrett Wilson Clear Vision Auto Materials 10-Card Set

New York Jets

2022 Panini Instant Garrett Wilson Clear Vision Auto Materials 10-Card Set /10 (PSA graded)

Cost: $38,000

Only sports card collectors know how incredible an achievement this seller has unlocked. The Wilson Clear Vision Auto Materials card is limited to just 10 copies – and this person has somehow managed to secure all 10. If Wilson really starts to take off, this set should, too – though it would have been nice to see these receive higher PSA grades.

Philadelphia Eagles

2020 National Treasures Jalen Hurts Rookie Materials Signatures Red NFL Shield 1/1 (graded BGS 9)

Cost: $335,000

Cards like this one are the strongest endorsements for sets like National Treasures as some of the greatest card released ever made. Not only is this card as rare as they come, but it looks absolutely stunning – the shield really pops, the Hurts auto is crisp, and the color scheme just works. This card will hold big value for a very long time.

Pittsburgh Steelers

1999 Upper Deck Century Legends Terry Bradshaw Epic Signatures (graded PSA 10 w/10 Autograph)

Cost: $100,000

With nothing but respect to Bradshaw – who seamlessly transitioned from legendary QB to TV analyst and pitchman – this card is significantly overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the nicest Bradshaw autos you'll find, and a 10/10 grading combo is always rare, but this card is regularly priced across eBay at under $1,000. Good luck, though, seller!

Seattle Seahawks

2012 Topps Five Star Russell Wilson / Nick Toon Dual Shield Auto RC 1/1

Cost: $250,000

Now that we've thrown some playful shade at Nick Toon, let's talk about the true value driver of this card: a rookie shield and auto of one of the most divisive quarterbacks of this era. Wilson is no longer considered hobby royalty, but there's still value in his rookie-year offerings – and you get a Nick Toon shield, too!

BigTimeBats Tom Brady Authenticated Autographed Retirement Jersey.
BigTimeBats Tom Brady Authenticated Autographed Retirement Jersey. Photo By: krajonic1986 / eBay

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

BigTimeBats Tom Brady Authenticated Autographed Retirement Jersey 12/12

Cost: $1 million

You'll only find a handful of NFL jerseys more valuable than this one. Not only does it contain a big, beautiful autograph of the greatest quarterback in NFL history, it's limited to just 12 jerseys – and this is the highly-coveted "12 of 12" to match Brady's jersey number (which carries a premium for many collectors). I'll be watching this one closely.

Tennessee Titans

2016 National Treasures Ezekiel Elliott / Derrick Henry Dual Auto 2/5

Cost: $60,000

It's really something special to see autographs from two of the greatest running backs of our generation on the same card. Unfortunately, both autos are stickers, which does negate the value potential of the card – and fans of the Cowboys and Titans might not be as inclined to invest here, with Elliott in the twilight of his career and Henry now in Baltimore.

Washington Commanders

1992 Pro Set Crazy Ray Jones / Chief Zee Dual In-Person Auto (graded PSA/DNA authentic)

Cost: $759,000

Remember this one? It's the most expensive eBay item for two NFL teams – and in the case of the Commanders, there isn't another listing in the same zip code (the next-priciest Washington collectible comes in at $37,500.)
