Connor Hellebuyck's regular-season dominance has extended through the halfway mark, and the Winnipeg Jets ace is the prohibitive Vezina Trophy odds favorite/

Hellebuyck is on course to claim consecutive Vezinas, which would mark the first time a goaltender has won two straight since Martin Brodeur in 2007 and 2008. 

He's way out in front of the chasing pack, with Filip Gustavsson falling off the pace.

Arguably the best regular-season goaltender of a generation, Hellebuyck has looked every bit as elite as he did last season while winning his second Vezina, if not more so. And he has the Jets among the Stanley Cup odds favorites. 

He leads various statistical categories for those with at least 18 starts, including save percentage (.926), goals-against average (GAA) (2.09), shutouts (5), and wins (25). 

The 31-year-old's Hart Trophy odds are surging, too, leading to the question of whether a netminder can still win the Hart Trophy. Time will tell. His implied probability of winning has increased from 47.62% to 90% over the last month.

I'm not letting the fact that Jake Oettinger's Vezina Trophy odds have decreased from +2800 to +10000 deter me. After all, everyone's odds have decreased that much, living underneath the ginormous Hellebuyck shadow. 

The Dallas Stars have come off Christmas break like a pack of ravenous hyenas, winning five in a row. Oettinger has won his last four starts. He's posting the sixth-best GAA (2.41) for those with at least 20 games, has a .908 save percentage and is a 20-9-1.  

Oettinger is still performing well at home, posting the third-best save percentage (.917) for those with at least 17 games. 

If the Stars continue their hot streak down the stretch, Oettinger — and his Vezina Trophy odds — could be the main benefactor. A winning $10 bet will profit $1000.
