Leon Draisaitl leads the league with 31 goals and has increased his lead atop the Rocket Richard Trophy odds leaderboard across our best NHL betting sites

The Oilers center is on pace for 59 goals, which would be a career-high.

While Mikko Rantanen and William Nylander are receiving the second-shortest odds, there's a logjam of players in the chasing pack, with seven on either 23 or 24 goals.

Here are the Rocket Richard Trophy odds.

  • Brayden Point, Rantanen, and Nylander are tied for second with 24 goals
  • Cole Caufield scored in four straight and is getting +5000 odds
  • Sam Reinhart has scored just one in his last seven games but is still tied for fourth with 23 goals
  • Alexander Ovechkin has scored in four of seven games since returning from injury but is still well back of Draisaitl
  • Point has logged 24 goals on a 29.3 shooting percentage. His shooting percentage has dropped 8% over the last month. However, it's still over 7% better than his previous career-high

Leon Draisaitl Rocket Richard Trophy odds (-200)

Draisaitl graduated from my Rocket Richard Trophy odds player to watch to the standalone favorite in about a month. And that was before he began distancing himself further from the chasing pack.

The German power forward is enjoying a monster season. He's been plenty productive in previous seasons, but the current campaign resembles Hulk's angriest, most irate version of himself. He's in the Hart Trophy odds conversation, which says a lot considering the shadow of Connor McDavid that he perpetually lives under.

Draisaitl has registered three four-game goal-scoring streaks. Maybe most tellingly, 23 goals have come in victories compared to just eight in losses. It's a snapshot of how much his goals mean to the Stanley Cup odds favorites.

The Oilers are 18-6-1 when Draisaitl scores a goal. Draisaitl's implied win probability has gone up 46% in the last four weeks, and I don't see him slowing down anytime soon. He won't be caught if Draisaitl stays healthy.

Mikko Rantanen Rocket Richard Trophy odds (+1200)

It's unlikely anyone catches Draisaitl. But Rantanen has earned the best chance to reel in the prolific Oiler.

Alexander Ovechkin and Auston Matthews missed too much time. It's hard enough to keep pace with Draisaitl with the same number of games played.

Rantanen plays beside Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar creates plays from the blue line behind him. He's seven goals behind Draisaitl and has registered one in six of the last seven games.

He'll need to score at a similar clip for an extended period to catch Draisaitl. While possible, the probability is increasingly unlikely.

A winning $10 bet would profit $120.

Best odds: +1200 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 7.69%

How to bet on Rocket Richard Trophy futures

There are a few critical areas to pay close attention to before locking in your Rocket Richard futures pick.

First, take a look at the player's recent goal-scoring record, ensuring they are consistently productive and have been knocking on the door in recent seasons. Also, ensure the player is still in his prime and amid an upward trajectory.

It's also important to pick a player who plies his trade for an offensively explosive team. In addition, who is the player you're looking at on a line with? Does he have one of the world's best set-up men feeding him the biscuit, akin to McDavid dishing to Draisaitl and Zach Hyman on the power play?

Make sure the player you're backing isn't injury-prone or susceptible to missing extended periods.

Look at how proficient the power play has been in recent years and whether the player you're backing is in a weaker division. That will facilitate more opportunities.

How to read Rocket Richard Trophy futures odds

Reading Hart Trophy odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +500 or -200. Positive odds (e.g., +500) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.

For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600. Negative odds (e.g., -200) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $200 bet at -200 odds would win you $100, plus your $200 stake, totaling $300.

These odds also reflect the probability of a team winning the championship. Lower odds (e.g., +300) suggest a higher likelihood, while higher odds (e.g., +2000) indicate a lower probability.

Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on performance, injuries, trades, and betting patterns.
