The Edmonton Oilers are underdogs for tonight’s visit to clash with the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN and Sportsnet 1) despite winning seven of their last eight games.

Colorado has taken seven of the last 10 meetings, but the Oilers claimed the most recent one with a 4-1 victory on Nov. 30 in Denver. Five of the last eight matchups between these teams have required overtime to decide.

This is unquestionably a horrendous scheduling spot for the Oilers. Not only is Edmonton playing the second leg of a back-to-back set in the high altitude of Denver, but the Oilers are also logging their seventh straight game in a different city (six of those on the road and one at home) and their fourth contest in six days.

But if any team can handle it, it’s the Oilers.

Recent adversity hasn't been fazing the Oilers, as they've overcome multiple-goal deficits in their last two victories. That includes last night, when the Oilers rallied from an early 2-0 hole to down the Minnesota Wild 5-3. And Edmonton won four of its last five games on zero rest, including a multi-goal win each time.

Edmonton’s offense is also firing on all cylinders, especially on the road where the Oilers have scored three-plus goals in 11 of their last 12 contests. Meanwhile, the Avalanche's offense is struggling, scoring just two regulation-time goals in its last two games and 12 in the team's previous six (with six coming in one game versus Minnesota).

Even in such a tough situational spot, +115 is too good of a price to pass up on an Edmonton squad that's winning a lot lately and is 18-4-1 in its last 23 outings.
