The Toronto Maple Leafs erased two deficits to win Game 2 and found a way to even the series, and now we're digging into our expert Bruins vs. Maple Leafs player props for Game 3 based on the best NHL odds

The Toronto Maple Leafs enter Game 3 with added confidence after tying this first-round series at one win apiece against the Boston Bruins.

The Buds ended an eight-game losing streak against the Bruins, which should instill a sense of confidence akin to the fearless Dauntless faction from "Divergent."  The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET from Scotiabank Arena with Toronto dealing as a short moneyline favorite across our best sports betting sites

The Maple Leafs also scored three goals for the first time in eight matchups between the teams in Game 2. As a result of evening the series, the Bruins and Maple Leafs are neck-and-neck in the Stanley Cup odds.

Accompanying our Golden Knights vs. Stars player props, here are our best Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions and NHL picks for Wednesday's Game 3 (odds via our best NHL betting sites; Pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions: Wednesday

Maple Leafs ML vs. Bruins ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Maple Leafs finally got Godzilla off their back. The 3-2 Game 2 victory on Monday meant so much more than a series leveler. It should inject belief into the collective, reminding them the big bad B's are indeed beatable. Toronto was the better team for the lion's share of Game 2, overturning two deficits while overcoming stiff adversity after going down 2-1 late in the first period.

The Maple Leafs escaped with a win despite taking more harebrained penalties at inopportune times, with Tyler Bertuzzi's nonsensical third-period slash on Brad Marchand the worst and best example. If they control their emotions early in Game 3, the Maple Leafs should build on the tsunami of momentum they gained.

At -120, a $10 winning bet pays an $8.33 profit and has a 54.55% implied probability.

Over 5.5 goals ⭐⭐⭐

One of two games thus far hit the Over. Game 1 was destined for the Under until Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe, with his team down by three, pulled goaltender Ilya Samsonov in a move that reeked of desperation. With three of four regular-season tilts going Under, backing the Over comes with an obvious disclaimer. However, the Maple Leafs and Bruins created more than enough chances in Game 2 to break the 5.5-goal barrier.

Jeremy Swayman, who allowed just one goal in each of his last three starts against the Maple Leafs, should start for the Bruins in Game 3, while Samsonov was outstanding when he had to be in Game 2. Still, if there's any game in this series for the Over to hit, it's Game 3. Matthews looked unstoppable on Monday, while Bertuzzi and Max Domi were buzzing. Mitch Marner is desperate for a bounce-back game, and so are the Bruins. Expect an outlier with at least six goals.

At -125, a $10 winning bet yields an $8 profit, accompanying a 55.56% implied probability.

Best odds: -125 via Betway

Auston Matthews Over 1.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Matthews' Game 2 performance in Boston felt different. Arguably the best outing of his career, Matthews was irrepressible and omnipresent, thriving under intense pressure that can break lesser humans. He scored the game-winning goal with just under eight minutes to play while contributing two assists, firing eight shots, and delivering six hits.

It was a complete performance from the Buds' superstar, which was badly needed considering Mitch Marner's insipid play. Matthews will be revved up to play in front of the Maple Leafs' faithful and should be able to carry the momentum from Game 2 into Game 3. And if he plays like he did on Monday, not even an elite Boston defense will be able to stop him. At +115, a $10 winning bet would pay a profit of $11.50. It comes with an implied probability of 46.51%.

Best odds: +115 via Betway
