Super Bowl Referee 2025: Who is Chiefs vs. Eagles Official Ron Torbert?

The stage is set for Super Bowl 2025, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles meet for the second time in three seasons with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.
This Chiefs vs. Eagles rematch kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET (FOX) from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. More so than ever this year, attention seems to be paid to the Super Bowl referee and the men in charge of the laundry in the lead-up to the game.
I have the same guidance here that I gave during my breakdown of the NFL Conference Championship referees: put your tinfoil hats away. We're here to examine the cold, hard facts and dive into the Super Bowl referee trends for Ron Torbert ahead of the Big Game.
Who is the Super Bowl referee for Chiefs vs. Eagles?

Super Bowl referee: Ron Torbert
It won't be Torbert's first time under the bright lights and scrutiny of the Super Bowl, as he headed up the crew that called the Bengals-Rams game just a few years ago. The graduate of Harvard Law School has been an official since 2010, working as a side judge until jumping to referee in 2014.
Torbert and his crew have been in charge of 17 games this season, tossing 285 flags (50 dismissed) for 1,958 yards. That's tied for the third-most flags and third-most yards in accepted penalties leaguewide, according to nflpenalties.com.
While that works out to 13.82 flags per game, his crew threw only seven flags (six accepted) for only 41 yards when Torbert and Co. last worked the Big Game.
Since 2020, he's headed up nine Eagles games. Philadelphia is 5-4 in those games, winning the last five games he's called (including Week 1 and Week 18 this season).
In that same span, he's only done three Chiefs games. Kansas City is 2-1 in those games, including the AFC Championship two seasons ago. That game featured numerous controversial calls, including a late unnecessary roughness call on a Patrick Mahomes run to the sidelines that led to the Chiefs' game-winning field goal over the Bengals.
