It’s been another tough season for New York Giants fans, but things could be looking up this week against the Carolina Panthers.

New York is an early 4.5-point favorite for Sunday’s clash with the Panthers in Munich (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network), marking the first time in 14 months that the Giants have been chalk.

Can New York live up to its rare billing as the favorite, or will Carolina post its second straight upset victory? We break down the matchup and offer our Giants vs. Panthers early picks and odds as part of our NFL Week 10 predictions, and Philip Wood digs even deeper into the game with his Giants vs. Panthers prediction.

When you’re averaging 15.4 points per game like the Giants are, there’s not much you’re doing right offensively.

However, New York’s running game has been a bright spot for the past couple of weeks. The G-Men averaged 6.8 yards per carry Sunday against the Washington Commanders after rumbling for 6.3 per attempt in their previous game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary and Daniel Jones should enjoy plenty of success on the ground again vs. the Panthers, who were gashed for 215 all-purpose yards last week by the New Orleans Saints’ Alvin Kamara. Carolina has now given up 180-plus rushing yards in three of its last four games, and five of its nine games on the season.

Yes, the Panthers won last week’s game over the Saints, but a lot had to go right for that to happen. They were facing a team that had lost six straight (and fired its coach the next day), New Orleans quarterback Derek Carr was playing his first game in a month, the Saints lost star receiver Chris Olave to a concussion - and the Panthers still barely eked out a one-point win.

These teams may enter Week 10 with identical 2-7 records, but there’s no question which is the superior team. New York has been better this year away from MetLife Stadium (2-2 on the road, 0-5 at home), winning by nine in Seattle and by six at Cleveland. Big Blue fans get a reprieve this week with a comfortable Giants win in Munich.

Moneyline

Four of our best sports betting sites have identical -225 prices on New York, five cents cheaper than FanDuel’s -230. Conversely, FanDuel is five cents better than Caesars, DraftKings, and bet365 on the Panthers moneyline, offering +190 on Carolina to pull off the outright upset.

Spread

  • Giants best odds: -4.5 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Panthers best odds: +4.5 (-108) via FanDuel

The consensus point spread across our best sports betting apps is 4.5, although FanDuel shaded its line slightly toward New York and gave Panthers spread bettors a -108 discount. Carolina backers can also catch +5 at DraftKings if they are willing to pay -112 juice.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 41.5 (-108) via DraftKings
  • Under best odds: 41.5 (-110) via FanDuel

Although the total was locked in at 41.5 by Monday night, we could see some movement toward the Over later in the week based on Carolina’s quarterback situation.

Bryce Young started the Panthers’ last two games after Andy Dalton suffered a thumb injury in a car accident, but Dalton - who has led Carolina to 20-plus points in three of his five starts - could be cleared to return to action this week.
