NFL Awards Predictions 2025: Looking Ahead to NFL MVP, OPOY, DPOY & Other Winners

Following a glamorous night in which players across the NFL were celebrated for their accomplishments, we're taking an early look at next year's potential award winners with our NFL award predictions.

Josh Allen was named the NFL MVP, and he opened with the second-shortest odds to repeat as the winner next year, with Lamar Jackson serving as the favorite following his somewhat controversial runner-up finish.

To no one's surprise, Saquon Barkley is the favorite to once again be named the Offensive Player of the Year after a magnificent campaign. He'll look to put a bow on it this Sunday when his Philadelphia Eagles try to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs in the Big Game, and we've detailed every betting market available with our Super Bowl predictions. 

Finally, following Patrick Surtain's Defensive Player of the Year win, we're targeting a fellow long shot with a point to prove next year.

NFL MVP pick: Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow's MVP odds: +750 via DraftKings

Burrow finished fourth in NFL MVP voting for the 2024 season, behind Allen, Jackson, and Barkley. One day later, with the market open at one of our best sports betting sites, he's tied for the third-shortest NFL MVP odds.

One of the big things holding back Burrow this season was the fact that the Bengals didn't make the playoffs, so they'll need to sort out the defense to give him a better shot next year.

Additionally, one of the big question marks surrounding his potential MVP campaign - and that of others I'm interested in - is the status of Tee Higgins.

Higgins is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL, and he'll provide his quarterback (whether it remains Burrow or is someone new) with a big boost in this market.

Therefore, keep an eye out this offseason for rumblings involving star wideouts. If someone like Jayden Daniels (+1000), Jordan Love (+2200), or Dak Prescott (+3000) gets help at receiver, I'd be very interested in betting on them.

Offensive Player of the Year pick: Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson's Offensive Player of the Year odds: +1400 via DraftKings

It's hard to focus on much else down the board when one player annihilates the field like Barkley did with his win. However, I'll point out the most offensive part of the Offensive Player of the Year Award: Robinson didn't receive a single vote.

Meanwhile, Kyren Williams and Josh Jacobs finished among a group in 11th with two votes, despite the fact that both were worse than Robinson in 2024.

It's very telling that DraftKings has opened with Robinson trading as the fourth-biggest favorite by the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds.

Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris looked finally willing to let Robinson loose in the second half of the campaign after seemingly limiting his workload early in the season, and that should carry over into next year.

In my opinion, with Christian McCaffrey's health a massive question mark, Robinson serves as one of the three best running backs in the league alongside Barkley and Jahmyr Gibbs. Based on the fact that those two are trading at +600 and +900, respectively, I'll back Bijan.

Defensive Player of the Year pick: Fred Warner

Fred Warner's Defensive Player of the Year odds: +4000 via DraftKings

Speaking of McCaffrey, his San Francisco 49ers are certainly going to enter the 2025 campaign with something to prove after a disastrous season. 

The 49ers finished last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record, and a big reason for that was because they allowed the third-most points in the entire conference. 

Robert Saleh will return as the defensive coordinator next year after being pushed out of New York by Aaron Rodgers, and I think he'll get his boys back on track.

Your eyes may first be drawn to Nick Bosa's NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds, but I'm looking a little further down the board at the team's leader on that side of the ball, Fred Warner.

Warner reportedly played most of the season with a broken bone in his ankle, and he still managed to play every single game and finish first-team All-Pro. The man is an absolute machine, and following a sixth-place finish in this category two years ago, I think we're getting great odds for him to be properly recognized for his greatness.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

The NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds are yet to be released following Jayden Daniels' destruction of the field. Daniels received 49 of 50 first-place votes, with tight end Brock Bowers robbing him - or, actually, the writer who voted for Bowers - of a unanimous win.

However, though a lot depends on where rookies land in the NFL draft, we do have some information when it comes to this market.

Quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders opened at +10000 and +15000, respectively, to win NFL MVP. Therefore, they'll likely open as the favorites to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, regardless of where they end up following the NFL draft.

Travis Hunter - the reigning Heisman Trophy winner - is trading at +20000, though it's unknown whether he'll focus on offense or defense in the NFL.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Similarly, there aren't any NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds available yet, but we can use the NFL draft odds to our advantage here.

Abdul Carter is +240 to go No. 1 overall in the draft, which are easily the shortest odds of any defensive player. The next-closest is Mason Graham, who's trading at +6000. Therefore, it's safe to assume that Carter will, therefore, open as the favorite to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.

This year's winner, Jared Verse, didn't open as the favorite, but he was among those at the top of the oddsboard. Quinyon Mitchell finished second in voting and opened among the contenders with Cooper DeJean (fourth place) and Chop Robinson (fifth place) also being among the rookies trading at relatively short odds when this market opened last year.

Therefore, we know it's likely the winner of this award will be found among the contenders when the odds open.

Comeback Player of the Year pick: Christian McCaffrey

This award sucks.

I mean, congratulations to Joe Burrow for coming back from the type of injury roughly 100 players return from every year, I guess. And yet people are mad that Sam Darnold didn't win for coming back from being terrible. I guess we should be thankful Burrow won.

The NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds aren't yet available, but they should open with one man at the top of the board: McCaffrey.

However, some other players who I think we could see trading toward the top of the oddsboard are: Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence, Anthony Richardson, and Derek Carr. Maybe even Bryce Young and Caleb Williams?

In my opinion, the type of players who should actually be eligible for this award are those who are coming off a completely lost season. But as we know, the voters don't agree with that, so I'd suggest you be extra careful with your wagers on this market.

Coach of the Year pick: Dan Campbell

Following an extremely tight race by the NFL Coach of the Year odds, Kevin O'Connell came out on top for silencing those who wrote off the Minnesota Vikings before the season. He earned 25 first-place votes to Dan Campbell's 19, and I think next year we finally see the Detroit Lions head coach get properly acknowledged.

It would follow a pattern, too, as Campbell finished third in 2023 before this second-place result. Therefore, it only makes sense that he completes it by winning in 2025.

However, we've seen coaches who take their team from the basement to glory thrive in this market. In that regard, I'm particularly interested in Campbell's former offensive coordinator and new Chicago Bears head coach, Ben Johnson.

Johnson already made one very smart move by naming Dennis Allen his defensive coordinator, and the Bears feature plenty of young, exciting talent. If they can flip their record from 5-12 to 12-5, Johnson could rob his former boss of another chance at winning Coach of the Year. However, they're still the Bears.
