Los Angeles has shown over the last month that it struggles to cover versatile running backs in the passing game. The Rams have allowed opposing backs to rack up 20+ receiving yards in five consecutive games. They may face their worst nightmare on Monday Night Football.
De’Von Achane’s numbers haven’t jumped off the page quite like his rookie campaign. The second-year star out of Texas A&M has just five touchdowns to his name this season, but that’s largely due to Tua Tagovailoa’s extended absence early in the year. Miami’s veteran signal-caller is back under center for a third straight game, which means most past trends can be scrapped as the offense begins to click again.
Achane is versatility personified. He’s gone over 100 all-purpose yards in both games since Tagovailoa’s return, capping off those performances with three total touchdowns.
The speedster has also averaged 15 to 20 touches in that span, so he’ll have opportunities to find the end zone throughout the evening. The Dolphins are trying to make up for lost time, and desperation often gets the best out of talented offenses.
