For the first time in program history, Texas A&M will host a top-10 showdown when Alabama comes to town at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.

No. 5 Alabama (13-2, 2-0 SEC) is a 2.5-point road favorite over No. 10 Texas A&M (13-2, 2-0) on ESPN. But the Aggies have plenty of momentum following their win over No. 16 Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Texas A&M will be without its best player for the second straight game. The Aggies might have been able to defeat the Sooners without Wade Taylor IV (undisclosed), but knocking off the fifth-best team in the country is an entirely different story.

Per EvanMiya.com, Taylor has a team-best Bayesian Performance Rating of 6.56. For comparison, only Alabama’s Mark Sears has a better BPR (6.81) than him in this game.

That should help highlight the significance of Taylor's loss in this matchup, which is why the spread has grown from 1.5 to as high as 3.5. I expect Texas A&M’s offense to struggle without Taylor, so I’m comfortable laying the points with Alabama and fading the Aggies’ team total. This Under costs as much as -120 at BetMGM, indicating the value at DraftKings.

Taylor has a 25% usage rating and a 121.4 offensive rating this season. The Aggies’ offense won’t be the same without him, but their identity has already been to play at a slower pace. They rank 234th in adjusted tempo. Alabama is third in tempo.

Texas A&M also doesn’t shoot well from deep, as its 31.4% 3-point clip is 267th in the nation.

The Aggies can’t afford to get into a track meet with the Crimson Tide, so I’d like this Under in a winning or losing effort.
