NBA Championship Odds 2024: Celtics, Nuggets Remain Clear Favorites for NBA Finals
The Boston Celtics (3-1 vs. Miami Heat) and Denver Nuggets (2-1 vs. Los Angeles Lakers) sit far ahead of the field as the consensus favorites by the 2024 NBA championship odds.
Like Xerxes at the end of the movie "300," the Boston Celtics have shown that they bleed. Unfortunately, for the Miami Heat, it might have only angered the Celtics. The NBA's best team from the regular season suffered a 10-point loss on their home floor but responded on Saturday with a massive 20-point win in Miami.
Boston pulled away slightly from its nearest competitor, the Denver Nuggets, on the oddsboard. Denver took a 3-0 series lead against the Los Angeles Lakers into Game 4, eyeing a sweep on the road, but LeBron James and Co. held them off for at least one more game.
The Minnesota Timberwolves became the first team to book their way to the second round by completing a four-game sweep of the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder (up 3-0 vs. the New Orleans Pelicans) can also punch their tickets on Monday

We now know that the Celtics can lose, but they responded to that defeat as you'd expect. Our best sports betting sites raised their odds only slightly to +140 following the Game 2 loss, and now they're slightly shorter again after the bounce-back performance.
The Celtics were 27-14 on the road in the regular season compared to their stellar 37-4 home record. There's no sign of Jimmy Butler returning for Miami, and the Celtics may have slammed the door back shut on the series.
Nuggets (+250 via FanDuel)
The Nuggets' NBA Finals odds shortened following each of their first three victories over the Lakers, but they lengthened somewhat when Los Angeles was able to win one game on Saturday.
Denver needed another second-half comeback to pick up its third victory in the series, but it wasn't able to manage the same feat in Game 4. With the series shifted back to Colorado for Game 5 on Monday, it'll have another shot.
Mavericks (+1800 via Caesars)
The Mavericks' NBA championship odds inflated to a market-high of +2200 following their Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Those who pounced on that number feel great, with the series squared up at 2, despite Dallas dropping Game 4 at home.
The Clippers pulled one out without Kawhi Leonard in Game 4, thanks to a 39-point first quarter. The superstar forward is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, which should give Dallas and inside track to come out on top in what has become a best two-of-three series.
