Germany and Serbia have secured spots in the 2024 Olympics and will face each other in the gold-medal match at the FIBA World Cup as we analyze the latest FIBA World Cup odds.

Basketball fans will finally get to see the USA and Canada face off in a long-anticipated matchup. It'll happen in the bronze-medal game, just as we all predicted.

Serbia and Germany both pulled off massive upsets in the semifinals, and those nations will meet in the gold-medal game at the FIBA World Cup. If you're looking to place a bet on the bronze-medal game featuring Canada vs. USA, don't worry, we've got you covered.

Serbia defeated Canada as a 5.5-point underdog, and Germany eliminated the USA as a 10.5-point underdog. Germany remains the only unbeaten team in the FIBA World Cup, and Dennis Schroder is calling it the best team he has ever played for during his career, whether it be in international competition or the NBA.

Will Germany maintain its unbeaten record and secure the gold medal with the help of Schroder and the Super Wagner Brothers? Or will Serbia and Bogdan Bogdanovic get a say in the outcome?

FIBA World Cup odds movement

Serbia was trading at +800 via BetMGM to win the FIBA World Cup, and Germany was at +900 via Caesars prior to the semifinals. The prices are dramatically different two upsets later, with Serbia now trading at +100 and Germany at -115.

FIBA World Cup odds 2023: Favorite

Germany (-115 via Caesars)

We originally put Germany in the long-shot category on our odds page when the team opened at +5000 to win the FIBA World Cup. But the team definitely doesn't fit in that category anymore. When a squad goes undefeated in the FIBA World Cup and eliminates the USA to reach the finals, it gets bumped up to being the favorite.

This unit is a slight favorite to win the FIBA World Cup, according to our best sports betting sites, with Franz Wagner returning from an injury and Dennis Schroder, Moritz Wagner, Daniel Theis, and Andreas Obst leading the way.

Germany was available at +900 to win the FIBA World Cup prior to its semifinal matchup against the USA. That's how much the team's upset win over the USA and Serbia's upset of Canada flipped this oddsboard upside down. Germany is now trading as the favorite, and the best price you can find is -115 via Caesars.

FIBA World Cup odds 2023: Contender

Serbia (+100 via BetMGM)

I agree with Serbia's head coach Svetislav Pešić. We could spend time talking about how Nikola Jokic, the best basketball player in the world right now, isn't playing for the team. Or we can focus on the players who are contributing to this Serbia squad.

Bogdanovic, who plays for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA, has been shooting the lights out during the FIBA World Cup, scoring 21 points against Lithuania in the quarterfinals and 23 points against Canada in the semifinals. He isn't the only NBA player making noise on Serbia, as 20-year-old Nikola Jovic of the Miami Heat has been a solid contributor. If you've heard the name before, it's because he's been one of the pieces rumored to be going to the Portland Trail Blazers in a Damian Lillard trade.

Serbia doesn't feature as many NBA players as Germany. But the team boasts experienced EuroLeague players in Stefan Jovic, who's a true point guard and sees the floor really well, and Nikola Milutinov as the center, who's a true post player.

The team was hovering around that +1200 price range when this tournament began and was available at +800 before a semifinal matchup with Canada. Now the best price you'll find is +100 via BetMGM after Serbia upset Canada and Germany took out the USA.
