2025 NBA Coach of the Year favorite
JJ Redick (+800)
JJ Redick began this season with absolutely zero organized coaching experience, and yet was thrown into the biggest fire in the NBA - leading the way for the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers.
And yet, to the surprise of many, Redick has passed the early season test with flying colors. Though the team recently just dropped a nail-biter to the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers still sit 3-1 with impressive wins over the Suns, Sacramento Kings, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
By far, the biggest difference between the Darvin Ham era and the Redick regime is the offensive system. Redick's experience as one of the NBA's most feared shooters has helped improve the team's ball and player movement. As a result, the team has vaulted all the way from No. 15 in offensive rating last season, to No. 5 this year.
Redick has also made it a clear point to feature Anthony Davis as the lead option, and the big man continues to climb NBA MVP odds. Davis is leading the NBA with 32.8 points per game, and Redick's system has continuously put him in spot to succeed with the ball in his hands.
Of course, it is extremely early in the season, and the Lakers are likely due for some offensive regression, especially as the minutes per game for their stars creeps above 35 per game. However, if the offensive continues to click at such a high level and L.A. remains in contention for one of the top seeds in the loaded Western Conference, Redick has a real chance to take home the Coach of the Year award.

My NBA Coach of the Year candidate to watch
Jamahl Mosley (+1400)
Though it's just four games into the year, it seems like the full-on breakout that many were hoping for with the Orlando Magic is set to come to fruition. And though many are worthy of the credit, head coach Jamahl Mosley remains near the top of the list.
After leading Orlando to its best record since 2010-11 last season, the Magic have come out 3-1 to begin the new campaign, with wins over the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Indiana Pacers. The defense has been good as usual, but the offense has taken a massive step forward.
It's easy to forget that in Mosley's first two seasons, the Magic went just 56-108 and were in the bottom two of the Southeast division both years - a division that's home to the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
But thanks to Mosley's leadership and the massive growth of rising superstar Paolo Banchero, the Magic have a real chance to grab a top-two seed in the Eastern Conference.
Not only do the Magic have the benefit of playing in arguably the worst division in the NBA, they also have a young roster full of players who keep getting better.
Banchero is an All-Star and perhaps more, Franz Wagner is on his way to becoming one of the best No. 2 options in the NBA; and Jalen Suggs is one of the top defensive guards in the league. Plus, there's depth with players like Jonathan Isaac, Wendell Carter Jr., Cole Anthony, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
The offense is probably primed to come back down to earth, but with just the sixth-best odds to take home the Coach of the Year award, it could be worth a wager on Mosely. After all, if the Magic can genuinely finish second behind the Boston Celtics, it's certainly his award to lose.

How to bet on NBA Coach of the Year
Betting on NBA Coach of the Year odds is straightforward. First, pick a reputable sportsbook offering NBA Coach of the Year futures. Check the odds for various players; for instance, if Coach A has +300 odds and Coach B has +700, Player A is favored to win.
Place your bet by deciding how much to wager. If you bet $100 on Coach A at +300 and they win, you’ll get $400 back ($100 stake + $300 profit). Keep an eye on player performances throughout the season to gauge your bet’s potential.
Now, why do odds move in future markets? It’s all about performance and perception. If a player performs exceptionally well or poorly, their odds will shift. Injuries to the player or their competitors can also significantly impact their Coach of the Year chances.
The success of the player’s team can improve their odds as well. Public betting trends play a role; if many people are betting on one player, sportsbooks might adjust the odds to balance their risk. Expert analysis and predictions can also influence how people bet, affecting the odds. Understanding these factors helps you make informed bets and potentially take advantage of favorable odds movements.
