There are no surprises atop the 2025 US Open odds as defending champions Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka lead the way on either side of the draw.

Carlos Alcaraz's odds are in lockstep with Sinner's as the pair continue to carry the torch on the men's side. Novak Djokovic is, as always, in the mix, trading just behind the pair of youngsters.

Sinner and Alcaraz have split the last four Grand Slam titles, while Sabalenka has won the previous three US and Australian Opens, and she's also the 2025 Australian Open odds favorite.

Men's US Open favorite

Jannik Sinner (+200)

Sinner, the in-form player on tour, made an emphatic statement by winning the 2024 US Open.

The world no. 1 won two Grand Slam titles in 2024, equaling Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner also won the 2024 Australian Open, while Alcaraz triumphed at the French Open and Wimbledon.

Sinner was cleared of any wrongdoing after failing two drug tests, creating backlash from fellow competitors.

Nick Kyrgios, who suggested the Italian should have received a two-year ban, believes the Italian's surname directly reflects his off-court conduct.

Sinner's odds are too short at the moment for my liking.

It's worth waiting to see what happens in the coming weeks and months before deciding to pull the trigger on backing Sinner.

My 2025 US Open men's player to watch

Alexander Zverev (+1000)

If you've been following our Australian Open odds, you might think I have a man crush on Alexander Zverev. While I can assure you I don't, I am a massive proponent of the man's skill set on hard court.

His recent form has shown he's overdue for an elusive Grand Slam title.

Zverev reached at least the quarterfinals in six of his last nine majors. In his last three appearances at Flushing Meadows, he reached the quarterfinals twice and semifinals at the US Open.

If he stays healthy and remains on the current trajectory, I'm backing Zverev to win his first at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

If that happens, I will develop a man crush for the world no. 4.

Women's US Open favorite

Aryna Sabalenka (+225)

Sabalenka is playing like a Category-5 hurricane that cannot be stopped. In 2023 and 2024, she made it to at least the semifinals in six of the seven Grand Slams.

The Belarusian won back-to-back Australian Opens (2023 and 2024) and triumphed at the 2024 US Open.

Since the shoulder injury that kept her out of Wimbledon 2024, Sabalenka swatted aside all comers. Her skill set is perfectly suited for the hard court, and I expect her to dominate at the US Open and Australian Open for years to come.

Her odds won't get much longer, so don't worry about waiting. Then again, there's no rush to lock her in as your 2025 US Open winner, as time won't significantly impact these odds.

When you're ready, jump on the Sabalenka train. You won't regret it.

My 2025 US Open women's player to watch

Jessica Pegula (+1600)

I'm confident backing Jessica Pegula in any match on hard court unless she's forced to face Sabalenka.

Pegula lost to Sabalenka at the 2024 US Open final and Cincinnati Open final. While she's one of the best hard-court players on tour, Pegula isn't in the same stratosphere as Sabalenka.

That said, Pegula is the second-hottest commodity on the women's tour, at least on hard court.

It's hard to predict whether her odds will shorten or lengthen in the coming months.

You might want to see how she fares at the 2025 Australian Open before locking her in as your 2025 US Open futures pick.
