Roughriders vs. Blue Bombers prediction: Collaros back to form

CFL picks confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale.

Blue Bombers -3.5 ⭐⭐⭐

The last time the Blue Bombers didn't play in the Grey Cup, the Las Vegas Golden Knights had yet to debut as an NHL expansion team. O'Shea has built a dynasty in The Peg and it doesn't look like it'll be coming to an end anytime soon.

After a slow start to the year, Winnipeg has been the best team in the CFL for the last three months. That's thanks in large part to QB Zach Collaros finding his magic tough again - after throwing just six TDs and 12 interceptions in the first 12 weeks of the season, he's thrown 11 TDs and three INTs in his last seven games.

That will come in handy against a Roughriders defense that allowed the third-most passing yards per game in the regular season (294.3). And Saskatchewan will likely be focused in on trying to stop CFL leading rusher Brady Oliveira.

Defense is the difference

For the Bombers to cover, their defense will be key. Winnipeg allowed the fewest yards per game (339.1) and fewest points per game (20.3) in the regular season while allowing the second-lowest QB rating (90.7).

This group should pose a major challenge to a Roughriders offense that put up the second-fewest yards per game this year (368.4) and scored more than 21 points in just one of its three regular season games against Winnipeg.

The Bombers are 7-3 ATS since Aug. 1, and if they cover again, a $10 winning bet pays an $8.70 profit.
