Best Ambetter Health 400 prop bets & NASCAR picks for Atlanta

After a Daytona 500 full of wrecks, Ford’s continued dominance at superspeedways may have gotten lost in the narrative. That just creates more value for us to exploit on the betting markets with our best Ambetter Health 400 props and NASCAR bets for Sunday's race at Atlanta.

🏎️ Ford to win the race (+150 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🏎️ Chris Buescher vs. Christopher Bell (-110 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🏎️ Josh Berry top-10 finish (+240 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

💰 Ford to win the race (+150) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As I mentioned last week in my Daytona 500 prop bets, Ford has led the majority of all laps on superspeedways since 2022. They just struggle to lead the last one. After leading 143 of 201 laps at the Daytona 500, they’re now up to 51.7% since 2022 and 65% since 2023.

Logano clearly had the best car last weekend - Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, among others, said as much after the race. The Fords were fast in qualifying, too. Only Chase Briscoe, who failed post-race inspection due to a spoiler issue, was faster.

Starting up front matters, and I expect Ford to do well in qualifying. They were +150 at bet365 before qualifying started, which implies a 40% win rate, and I would buy this prop down to +120. Let’s hope they can manage to lead the last lap this time.

We also highlighted this as our best prop bet in our Ambetter Health 400 predictions.

💰 Chris Buescher vs. Christopher Bell (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Caesars is setting up a battle of the Christophers this weekend, and they’re favoring the wrong one. Bell (-120) has an undeserved edge over Buescher (-110). Bell struggled in the draft at Daytona, and while the team should be able to sort things out for Atlanta, Buescher has an equipment advantage as he is behind the wheel of a Ford.

Buescher may not be a great superspeedway driver, but he is good. He won at Daytona two years ago, and he finished a solid P10 there in the 500 last week. Bell isn’t as bad at these tracks as fellow dirt superstar Kyle Larson, but if last week is any indication, there are real reasons to be concerned about Joe Gibbs Racing’s superspeedway program

💰 Josh Berry top-10 finish (+240) ⭐⭐⭐

Look, Berry’s debut for Wood Brothers Racing wasn’t spectacular. He struggled in the Duel races then finished 37th (DNF) in the Great American Race. That said, his car was fast - he ran fifth in time trial qualifying before the Duels. His quasi teammates at Team Penske were fast, too.

The No. 21 Ford that Berry takes over is no stranger to the top 10, as Harrison Burton tallied three top-10s behind the wheel last year - all at drafting tracks like Atlanta. While that isn’t exactly an efficient clip across 38 starts, Berry is an upgrade, and I like taking him to post a top-10 down at these +240 odds via FanDuel. I'd even play this down to +200.

Bet $5 on Josh Berry to finish in the top 10 in the Ambetter Health 400 and receive $150 in bonus bets with our FanDuel promo code.

My best Ambetter Health 400 long shot bet at Atlanta

If you’re looking to throw a dart - which is always a good idea when we’re at a drafting track - no driver stands out more than Zane Smith, who profiles as my best Ambetter Health 400 long-shot bet.

🏎️ Zane Smith top-5 finish (+1900 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best 2025 Ambetter Health 400 Props & NASCAR Bets at Atlanta: Top Expert Picks

🎯 Zane Smith top-5 finish (+1900) ⭐⭐⭐

The odds for this prop bet are simply too long. Smith checks in at +800 for a top-five at BetMGM and +1200 at DraftKings - yet we’re currently getting him at +1900 at FanDuel. I’m cool with this bet down to around +1500.

Smith is a two-time winner at Daytona in the Truck Series. He wasn’t quite as good at Talladega, but he posted a top-five finish in Atlanta right after the repave. With him now behind the wheel of a Front Row Racing Ford, he should in contention this year.

Last year, FRR led the most laps at this track. Todd Gilliland ran the show until midway through, bringing the No. 38 Ford that Smith now pilots home in 26th. While I expect all three FRR drivers will be near the front on Sunday, Smith owns the best odds by a wide margin.

💡 How to bet on NASCAR prop bets

If you haven’t placed a bet on NASCAR (or even just NASCAR props) before, you’ve been missing out! You can check out my broader tips on how to bet on NASCAR and develop a solid NASCAR betting strategy over on my Substack, but here are my key insights for wagering on Ambetter Health 400 props:

🏁 Do the math! Understanding the raw probability of an outcome helps you determine whether a particular betting line offers value. The 2025 Ambetter Health 400 features a 39-car field. That means the baseline odds of any single driver winning are 2.5%. Likewise, the chances of finishing in the top 10 sit at 25.63%.

🏁 Avoid overpaying for favorites. The Ambetter Health 400 - and superspeedway racing in general - is unpredictable. Even if a driver excels at this style of track, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re worth betting on at the odds being offered.

🏁 Sprinkle in some long shots. While Atlanta hasn’t produced a true long-shot winner, Todd Gilliland almost won this race last year, and superspeedways can always produce wild results.

🏁 Don’t wager so much that you can’t enjoy the race. Betting should enhance your experience, not ruin it. Superspeedway racing is thrilling and fun to watch, but if you’ve put so much of your bankroll on the line that you can’t relax and enjoy the action, you’re approaching it the wrong way.

🏁 At the core of my NASCAR betting philosophy is a simple message: Know what you’re getting into and bet responsibly. If you fail to do those two things, you’ll end up losing more than you win.
