Emmys Predictions, Odds 2024: Best Bets for Top TV Awards

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place on Monday night, and we have you covered with our best Emmys predictions for all of the most intriguing markets as TV's best shows and key members are honored.

Can anyone stop “Succession” from cleaning up during Monday's presentation of the 2024 Emmy Awards? The critically acclaimed HBO drama is expected to dominate the awards show on Monday night, as the only surprises we’re likely to see in the drama categories are if certain “Succession” actors upset their fellow castmates.

The comedy side of things is a lot more wide open. FX’s “The Bear” took home gold at the Golden Globes but is only slightly favored over “Ted Lasso," a beloved show that finished its final season in 2023.

Will there be any upset on Monday night, or are we in for a very predictable awards show?

Here are our best 2024 Emmys predictions for the top television awards based on the odds from our best sports betting apps.

Outstanding Comedy Series - The Bear (-125 via DraftKings)

After winning Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes, “The Bear” looks destined to clean up at the Emmys on Monday night. However, three shows could potentially pull the upset.

First, there is “Ted Lasso”. The show has been an Emmy darling, winning Outstanding Comedy Series for each of its first two seasons. It’s defeated most of the other nominees in this category, including fellow contenders “Barry” and “Abbott Elementary”. But the final season of “Ted Lasso” wasn’t as beloved as the first two, and “The Bear” has caught fire of late.

The other two contenders are “Barry” and “Abbott Elementary”. Every season of “Barry” has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, but the show has never won. If you’re looking for an upset, “Barry” is currently +1200 to win. With how beloved director and star Bill Hader is, it could happen.

“Abbott Elementary” is currently +400 to win, a solid price for a solid show. It’s the least polarizing show of the four main contenders, so perhaps it could sneak away with the victory.

However, “The Bear” is the best show in this category, and it’s the one with the most hype entering Monday night. If the price was -200 or lower, we’d likely look elsewhere, since there are plenty of worthy shows. However, at -125, the value is too good to pass up.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series - Jeremy Strong (Succession) (+450 via DraftKings)

It would take some sort of unexpected occurrence for “Succession” not to win Outstanding Drama Series on Monday night. So the only real drama in the dramatic categories is which “Succession” actors are going to win the major awards.

Kieran Culkin won the Golden Globe for his portrayal of Roman Roy, defeating Strong in the process. While it was a deserved win, the Emmys haven’t shown much love to Culkin for his work in HBO’s hit series. 

Culkin has been nominated twice, both as a supporting actor, and he lost both times. Strong, on the other hand, won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work in the second season of “Succession”. Sometimes the Emmys give an award to someone as a “thank you” for their last season if they’ve consistently been snubbed. However, Culkin doesn’t fit into that category.

The only person who could upset Strong and Culkin is Bob Odenkirk for his work in the final season of “Better Call Saul”. At +400, it could be worth giving him a look. However, Strong at +450 is the best play. Culkin will likely win, but he shouldn’t be favored by as much as he is, as this is far from a lock.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face) (+1800 via DraftKings)

Ayo Edebiri won the Golden Globe for her work in “The Bear”, but she wasn’t even nominated for the Emmy. With a wide-open field, this is the one category that could leave everyone shocked on Monday night.

Quinta Brunson is currently favored for her work in “Abbott Elementary”, but the price of -165 is unwarranted. Though she has received numerous nominations for her performance, she hasn’t picked up many wins, especially at bigger awards ceremonies.

While any of Rachel Brosnahan, Jenna Ortega, or Christina Applegate could win this award, the best performance in this category was Natasha Lyonne. The only question is: did enough people watch “Poker Face” for her to upset a stacked field of very popular actresses?

Our best sportsbooks don’t think so. DraftKings currently has Lyonne listed at +1800 to win. The next longest shot is Applegate at +800 for “Dead to Me”. But in a night that won’t have many surprises, this category doesn’t have a true frontrunner no matter what the odds say. If Lyonne was seen by enough voters, she will win, as her loyal supporters push her over the top.
