College World Series Odds & 2025 Betting Preview: Tennessee, Texas A&M Favorites
Football season is coming to a close, the winter air is crisp, and that can only mean one thing: the 2025 college baseball season is right around the corner. Opening day is slated for Friday, Feb. 14
The 2025 College World Series odds list the defending champions, the Tennessee Volunteers, as the favorites to repeat. Meanwhile, the runners-up from last season, the Texas A&M Aggies, have the second-best chance, according to oddsmakers.
The five schools with the shortest odds hail from the Southeastern Conference, which has dominated the sport in recent years. The SEC boasts the last five College World Series winners and four runners-up, but who else is expected to be in the mix in Omaha this summer?

College World Series odds favorites 2025
Tennessee College World Series odds: +750
Tennessee became the first SEC program to ever reach 60 wins en route to a national championship last season. Tony Vitello's squad has won 50-plus games in three of the last four seasons, so despite losing core pieces, consistency is a second nature in Knoxville.
Our best sports betting sites expect to see the Volunteers back in Omaha next season with top prospects Dean Curley (SS), Andrew Fischer (3B), Gavin Kilen (INF), and Dean Russell (RHP) leading the way.
Best odds: +750 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 11.76%
Texas A&M College World Series odds: +1000
Texas A&M is almost a complete antithesis of the team that beat them in Omaha last season.
The Aggies return a majority of their core - led by outfielder Jace LaViolette, the nation's top prospect - but they are tasked with replacing their head coach. Michael Earley steps into the role as he looks to lead Texas A&M to the CWS in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.
Best odds: +1000 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 9.09%
LSU College World Series odds: +1200
The seven-time college baseball champions bring back an experienced offensive core behind Jared "Bear" Jones (1B) and Steven "Monster" Milam (2B), but it's the arms making all the noise. Highly touted pitchers like Zac Cowan, Anthony Eyanson, William Schmidt, and Chase Shores will be key if LSU wants to reach Omaha for the 20th time in program history.
While the Tigers weren't able to repeat last year, they fared better following their title-winning season than their predecessors, who missed the postseason entirely. Many are high on Jay Johnson's men coming into the campaign, and it's easy to see why.
Best odds: +1200 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 7.69%
College World Series odds long shot 2025
Texas College World Series odds: +2600
Texas finished a disappointing 36-24 and saw its campaign end in the College Station Regional last season after being touted as a top-15 team before opening day. How did the Longhorns address these struggles? They fired David Pierce after eight years and poached Jim Schlossnagle from national runner-up Texas A&M.
Schlossnagle is one of the best coaches in the country, but he'll have to work his magic on a new roster that joins the sport's toughest conference. Texas plays a majority of its toughest opponents (Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M) at Disch-Falk Field, though, which sets it up nicely to host a regional in the postseason.
Max Belyeu (OF) and Jalin Flores (SS) are the stars looking to lead the Longhorns to the College World Series for the first time since 2022.
Best odds: +2600 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 3.70%
My 2025 College World Series odds team to watch
Florida State College World Series odds: +2800
Great pitchers are the backbone of every successful college baseball program, and the Florida State Seminoles might have two of the best arms in the entire country. Despite losing some production at the plate, Link Jarrett's men are expected to be in the mix because of their Friday and Saturday night starters.
As long as Jamie Arnold and Cam Leiter can stay healthy, the Seminoles can ride their superstar staff's success all the way to Omaha. Florida State was one of the last four teams standing last season, and it wouldn't surprise anyone to see them there again this year.

How to bet on the College World Series
Betting on College World Series odds is pretty simple. First, pick a reputable sportsbook that offers CWS futures.
Check out the odds for each team; for example, if Tennessee is +500 to win it all, a $100 bet on the Volunteers would win you $500 if they take the championship. Place your bet by deciding how much you want to wager. If you bet $100 on the Volunteers at +500 and they win, you’ll get $600 back ($500 profit + $100 stake).
Keep an eye on the teams' performances throughout the season to see how your bet is doing.
It's important to remember that odds move in future markets. It’s all about performance and perception. If a team starts playing better or worse than expected, their odds will change.
Injuries to key players can also significantly impact a team's chances and, thus, their odds. Public betting trends play a role - if a lot of people are betting on one team, sportsbooks might adjust the odds to balance their risk.
Expert analysis and predictions can influence how people bet, which in turn affects the odds.
How to read College World Series championship odds
Reading College World Series odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +500 or -200. Positive odds (e.g., +500) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.
For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600. Negative odds (e.g., -200) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $200 bet at -200 odds would win you $100, plus your $200 stake, totaling $300.
These odds also reflect the probability of a team winning the championship. Lower odds (e.g., +300) suggest a higher likelihood, while higher odds (e.g., +2000) indicate a lower probability.
Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on factors like team performance, injuries, trades, and betting patterns.
For example, if Tennessee has +500 odds and Texas A&M has +700 odds, the Volunteers are considered more likely to win. If you bet $100 on the Volunteers and they win, you’d get $600 back ($500 profit + $100 stake).
