Just like patrons fans lined up at 3 in the morning to get into TPC Scottsdale each day of the People's Open, we've been anxiously awaiting the release of the 2025 WM Phoenix Open odds. Tee times begin at 9:20 a.m. ET this morning.

DraftKings has had WM Phoenix Open odds posted for several months but the Phoenix Open field is now official, and the betting market is officially considered open. to no one's surprise, two-time tournament champion Scottie Scheffler is the consensus betting favorite.

Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), has odds to win this week of +333, representing an implied win probability of 23.09%. That's a prohibitive price for your golf picks.

Scheffler won this event back-to-back before Nick Taylor's long-shot victory last year.

Scheffler made his delayed start to the PGA Tour season last week after suffering a hand injury related to a cooking accident at home. He was a heavy favorite in the Signature Event at Pebble Beach, and he carries that mantle again as a two-time champion of this event.

Should Scheffler be the favorite to win the WM Phoenix Open? Yes. Will I bet on him at odds of +300? No.

This is a 132-man field and although the likes of Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Viktor Hovland aren't in the field after being listed on the way-too-early oddsboard, there are still several high-profile contenders.

Justin Thomas (+1400), Hideki Matsuyama (+1800), Sungjae Im (+2000), and Sam Burns (+3000) all have odds to win that are 4-10 times longer than Scheffler's.

Sepp Straka and Tom Kim are available at WM Phoenix Open odds of +4000 or longer after each sat atop the Pebble Beach leaderboard on Sunday. Defending tournament champion Nick Taylor has odds of +6000 to win this week after already winning this season.

My first pick to win the WM Phoenix Open

Tom Kim

Best odds: +4000 via DraftKings | Implied win probability: 2.44%

Note: Kim's WM Phoenix Open odds dropped to a high of +3500 as of Monday morning. I'd bet him down to +2000 in this field.

After powering Jupiter Links Golf Club to a win over Boston Common Golf in his first taste of TGL action earlier in the week, Kim went down to the wire with Straka, McIlroy, Shane Lowry, and more in the Signature Event at Pebble Beach. He ultimately finished seventh, five strokes back of McIlroy's dominant final-round performance.

The 22-year-old is a three-time PGA Tour winner but is without victory in more than a year. He played this event each of the last two years with finishes of T-50 and T-17, and he headlines my WM Phoenix Open picks to win.

It takes a certain type of golfer to find success amid the raucous environment of TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course and the People's Open. Kim is exactly that type of golfer, as demonstrated once again in the highest-profile match of the TGL season.

Kim's putter and short game ran hot at Pebble Beach as he ranked sixth in the petite field in strokes gained: tee-to-green. Those are all key stats for TPC Scottsdale, and I jumped all over these +4000 odds for his fourth career victory.
