The Miami (OH) RedHawks are on the ascent, climbing the MAC championship odds leaderboard after winning five straight games. They welcome the Northern Illinois Huskies to Yager Stadium tonight (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) as the slight favorites.

With four double-digit wins in the last five games, the RedHawks enter Tuesday's game brimming with confidence. However, they're entering the contest favored by just 1.5 points at our best college football betting sites

Northern Illinois storms into Oxford, Ohio, on a high, winning its last two games by an average of 13.5 points. It prides itself on keeping things tight defensively, allowing just 18.9 points per tilt, the 14th-fewest in college football.

Our Northern Illinois vs. Miami (OH) prediction expects the RedHawks to cover and win their sixth straight. The below predictions are part of our college football Week 13 predictions

Updated Northern Illinois vs. Miami (OH) betting info

The RedHawks opened as 4.5-point favorites but the line has continually decreased in the lead-up to tonight's kickoff. It's now down to 1.5 points, a uniform number across our best sports betting sites

The total has been much more stable, shifting just 0.5 points from 43.5 to 43.

Well-rounded RedHawks can win sixth straight

The Huskies have allowed just four opponents to score 20-plus points against them this season. They held the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to just 14 points earlier in the year, and the team allowed only 16 points in its last game.

While all of that is impressive, the RedHawks are on a roll offensively. They’ve scored at least 27 points in five consecutive games, notching 30-plus points in four of those contests. But it’s not just the offense that's been great. The RedHawks' defense has held each of its last five opponents to 21 or fewer points, including a mere seven points in two contests.

The Huskies’ defense has been excellent for most of the year, but their offense has been a problem. They’ve scored at least 29 points in back-to-back games, but the team has also been held to 20 or fewer points in five games.

Whether this game is high-scoring or low-scoring, the RedHawks hold the advantage. However, it's likely to be a close matchup, which is why I’m only making this a three-star play.

The RedHawks are getting 62% of the support against the spread. While the number moved from 2.5 to three early Monday, it’s back down to 2.5 at all the best sports betting apps.

Keyon Mozee Under 96.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mozee ran for 196 yards and one touchdown last week against the Kent State Golden Flashes. It was his fifth consecutive 100-plus-yard game, and the second time this season that he's averaged more than 10 yards per carry. While Mozee is hot right now, I don’t like this matchup for him.

The Huskies are allowing just 116.4 rushing yards per game, tied for the 24th-best mark in the nation. They’re also giving up just 3.5 yards per carry, which is 24th too. Mozee hasn’t been matchup-proof this season, rushing for 40 or fewer yards in four games. Look for him to struggle during his first really bad matchup in a while.

FanDuel is alone among our best sportsbooks while offering this prop. I expect other sportsbooks to come in with this number around 100 yards, so you can wait and see if there are better totals available closer to kickoff for one of your college football Week 13 predictions.
