The early line movement on the ACC Championship Game feels like a public overreaction to Clemson losing at home to a South Carolina team still very much in contention by the College Football Playoff odds.
Though SMU has dominated its recent schedule, it hasn’t faced an offense ranked in the top 50 of adjusted efficiency in any of its past six games. Clemson, meanwhile, ranks seventh in the nation in AdjO.
On paper, Clemson matches up particularly well against SMU due to the Tigers’ dynamic passing offense. Clemson averages 276.5 passing yards per game (13th in FBS). Cade Klubnik should exploit an SMU secondary that ranks 92nd in FBS in allowing 240 passing yards per contest.
