A press release from one of our best sports betting sites has announced the appointment of a brand new staff member.

Casey Hurbis joins the BetMGM leadership team as Chief Marketing Officer after spending 24 years in automotive marketing for prestigious brands such as FIAT and Alfa Romeo.

In a LinkedIn post, Mr. Hurbis announced his new role, stating, “I am honored to officially join BetMGM as Chief Marketing Officer! This is an epic opportunity to be part of a brand at the forefront of a fast-evolving industry, and I am up to the challenge!”

He said that while he will remain in Detroit, he will also spend a lot of time at the company’s New Jersey headquarters. He continued, “I cannot wait to meet and get to work with ALL of our team members and agency partners as we take BetMGM to the next level, TOGETHER.”

Previous roles

Casey brings around 30 years of consumer marketing expertise to his new role with BetMGM. Most recently, he served as CMO of Rocket Mortgage, where he helped the company launch the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the most awarded event on the PGA Tour.

Also based in Detroit, Mr Hurbis has worked for the worldwide advertising agency network BBDO, where he held various roles for over 17 years. He is a member of numerous committees and boards, including Google, Michigan State University, the Detroit Metro Sports Commission, Adcraft Detroit, and more.

“Over the past three decades, Hurbis has spearheaded innovative, needle-moving strategies in consumer engagement, digital advertising, partnership development, experiential marketing and more — expertise that will evolve into big-impact initiatives for BetMGM,” the press release reads.

An “impactful advantage” for the company

Mr. Hurbis will report directly to the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Prevost, who commented on the appointment:

“Building BetMGM from the ground up into one of the most recognizable brands in the sports betting and iGaming sphere has been an incredible accomplishment made possible by the tireless efforts of our amazing team. Bringing a visionary leader like Casey Hurbis on board adds another impactful advantage for our brand.”

“Sports betting is one of the most competitive and rapidly evolving industries in the marketing world, and I’m honored to join BetMGM at such an exciting time in its growth,” added Hurbis.

“BetMGM is a brand with incredible momentum, backed by a team that is redefining how we engage and entertain audiences. I look forward to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation to not only attract new audiences but enhance the experience for our loyal players to even greater heights.”

The iGaming and sports betting operator was founded in 2018, resulting from a partnership between MGM Resorts International and Entain Holdings. Today, the company operates in 29 markets with its BetMGM Casino and Sportsbook, Borgata Casino, Party Casino, and Party Poker. BetMGM reported solid financials for the first half of 2024, with $1 billion in net revenue, representing a 6% year-on-year increase.
