Proline+ Sportsbook, the sports betting product brought to you by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., puts its name recognition up against some established global heavyweight providers in a battle for market share in the exploding Ontario online sports betting scene. 

Proline had a theoretical head start on the competition in Ontario, so one would think that their platform would be air-tight. But this Proline+ online betting review established that the brand has a lot of work to keep up with global behemoths such as FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, and BetMGM, all of which have taken the Ontario market by storm.

100% of proceeds are reinvested in Ontario, supporting local schools, hospitals and other government organizations.

Proline+ Locations

Proline+ Sportsbook is available in Ontario only, which means that their product has yet to be tested in other jurisdictions, unlike the rash of competition they face in the Ontario market.

Sports Leagues to Bet On

Unfortunately, the Proline+ menu of sports appears in the “Cons” section of our Proline+ review. As a relative newcomer to the online sportsbook game, the brand has taken its time to populate an extensive list of sports betting options.

We expect Proline+ to get better over time, but for now, the sportsbook offers a basic menu of sports to bet on. Included on that list are:

OLG signed a five-year deal days before Super Bowl LVI to become the first sportsbook in Ontario and all of Canada to become an official partner of the NFL. Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions fans will gain a fair amount of attention in the Ontario market. All of the standard bets are available - points spread, moneyline, totals, and an intriguing list of props. Increasingly popular NFL live betting is also available with Proline+.

NBA Betting

Toronto Raptors betting is huge in Ontario and Proline+ offers all of your favorite bet types, player props, and live betting options.

College Football

College football action from Canada and south of the border is available at Proline.

College Basketball

You can bet on NCAA basketball all season at Proline+, including the popular March Madness contests.

NHL Betting

OLG made sure that Proline+ was Canada's first sportsbook to partner with the NHL and has also sponsored some of their popular outdoor events in Ontario. The Toronto Maple Leafs are an enormous sports betting draw, but the Ontario market also has the Senators - remember them?? The Detroit Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres also have their share of fans from North of the border. Puckline, spread, moneyline, totals, props, and live betting are available.

MLB Betting

Summertime means it's Toronto Blue Jays time in Ontario and Proline + is there with the standard variety of bet types as an official partner of the MLB.

Proline+ is a recognized and trusted name in the province, but our online betting review would love to see how the product stacks up against the competition in other jurisdictions. Proline+ relies on name recognition in Ontario, not on a reputation as a top-notch online gambling experience.

Website Experience

Despite being the most established name in the Ontario gambling market, Proline+ seems to have fallen short with its visual appeal. Proline lacks the flair frequently seen with their increasingly prominent international competition in the Ontario online sportsbook industry.

While not the most overwhelming site in the Ontario market, Proline’s technical and visual experience rates average.

Mobile Betting and Betting App

The Proline+ app is available on the App Store and Google Play. You can also find a downloadable version on the site itself. Sign-up is easy, and the platform is simple to navigate. Beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot that stands out in the Proline+ betting app.

Live Betting

Proline+ offers a surprisingly good depth of international sports leagues with live betting 24/7. You can find international football, tennis, racing, and more. Their live match tracker is subpar compared to the competition and their live odds quality is average or slightly below average.

Proline+ sportsbook and OLG casino offers a trustworthy online casino with a menu of intriguing slots, blackjack, and online poker if that’s more your speed. They also feature popular live casino options where you compete alongside other players in real-time for the most popular table games like blackjack, roulette, and Texas Hold 'em.

Proline+ History

Proline has the benefit of being a recognized name in the Ontario market since launching its lottery-based, limited sports betting platform in 1992-1993. Proline’s platform consisted mainly of wagering kiosks at participating retail locations in the province until 2000, when the company went live with mobile sports betting in addition to the kiosks. 

The Proline+ brand officially launched in Ontario on August 27, 2021, along with the legalization of single-game betting in Ontario and across Canada. 

The Proline+ virtual monopoly of legal sports betting in Ontario officially ended on April 4 with the legalization and ultimate launch of a broad mobile sports betting platform in the province.  

Proline+ will be chasing market share in an Ontario scene that makes up about 40% of Canada’s population. The province's 15 million residents would make it a top-5 jurisdiction in terms of the population if it were an American state.

The Proline+ overall reputation is average, while some of its competitors are incredible. Their App Store rating is just 2.0 out of five – showing customers are underwhelmed with the product thus far.

Proline+ Review Conclusion

Proline+ is a reputable sportsbook in the Ontario market. It has years of experience catering to Ontario bettors and name recognition in the market.

The average Ontario bettor has all the sports, betting, and banking options. Deeper and more obscure options aren’t available.

The OLG casino is impressive, their customer support is responsive, and the site is easy to use.

But for this Proline+ online review, we found it muddled in the province's second or third tier of legal online sportsbooks. They are a step behind the competition operating in the Ontario market in most aspects of their product. Their odds are nothing to write home about, and the options for sports, markets, and banking are underwhelming.

We hope that Proline+ will take some inspiration from the global providers they are up against in Ontario and step up their game to make them stand out in the increasingly competitive provincial scene.
